Maybe the claim is simply that the placebo effect is fun for all the family. Personally I prefer my placebos in pill form because it's less likely to undermine my man-on-the-street ideas about medical science, but if people want to waste my money on expensive varities of placebos which will have the double effect of reconfirming their flawed grasp of reality why should they? Oh... wait....
